DAY 1
09:00AM We will navigate approximately 1 hour from the beautiful city of El Coca to our Shuar Cultural Center community. On the way your guide will explain the safety you must take when navigating the largest tributary of Ecuador and which flows into the Amazon, the river Napo. During this trip, you will be able to connect with nature, giant trees, surrounding communities, as well as beautiful and peculiar birds such as herons and Amazon vultures.
Upon arrival in our community we will receive you in a traditional way without precedent (the ritual of the spear, “Tsaant-tobacco” is a fundamental part of the spirituality of the Shuar person). During your visit you will have the Shuar women as the main protagonists. In the same way you will learn about the importance of spirituality and the relationship that exists between the human being and nature.
You will also have the opportunity to learn about our gastronomy up close and in the afternoon learn about medicinal plants – hallucinogens, our ancestral games and take a refreshing swim in the waters of the Napo River.
DAY 2
05:00AM – Breafast After breakfast is served, we will take our luggage and we will navigate to the Yasuní National Park to see beautiful parrots at the clay licks. First we will continue start our journey visiting a bird watching tower. Afterwards we will see the Pericos saladero, where you can observe species such as the Blue-headed Parrot, Lora Farinosa, Lora Coroniamarilla, Scarlet Macaw, Caciques, Oropendolas, Howler Monkey, Chorongo Monkey and more.
Finally we return to the camp for lunch, after a short rest we pack our luggage to return to Coca

PAYMENT PROTOCOLS
For your safety and ours we will not accept direct clients at the moment. The purchase of any of the tours on this website must be made online and paid for in full before the start date of the tour.
TRANSPORTATION
Good news for clients who arrive the same day of the tour by air or land, because we can provide transportation from the airport or bus station to the Hotel of your choice and also at the time of tour departure.
COVID-19 Requirements
For the safety of our staff and communities, all passengers are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test in order to participate in the tour and activities. This must be done within 24 hours of the tour departure.
The tests are available in Coca and have an approximate one hour wait. the cost is between 45$-60$ USD.
For your safety, we are no longer able to provide rain boots or ponchos.

Where are you located?
We are located on the south/east bank of the Napo River, in the Flor del Pantano community, within the Yasuní biosphere reserve
HOW DO I ARRIVE TO SHUAR CULTURAL CENTER?
Bus to the city of Coca
A bus from the Trans Esmeraldas or Baños company leaves from the station in Quito, located in Carcelén (in the northernmost area of the city of Quito) or from Quitumbe (located in the south of Quito) at 11 pm (the day before at the beginning. The trip lasts 7 hours. Your guide will meet you in Coca.
In Coca – Address: Eugenio Espejo and Amazonas (next to the safari hotel)
In Coca our guide will transfer you to the Malecón, where we will board a motorized canoe to navigate the Napo River. During our journey down the Napo River, you will enjoy the opportunity to observe the unique flora and fauna of the area. We will travel along this river for approximately 1 hour until we arrive to Shuar Cultural Center
